Overview
TEAM PLACEMENTS
When forming teams, we consider factors such as athlete skills, experience, and maturity. Team placement is primarily determined by birth year and skill level.
Rosters are subject to change at any point and for any reason under coaches discretion. Initial team announcements will be sent via email after the team reveal on May 29th.
COMPETITION SCHEDULE
The competition schedule varies by team. Most teams will attend competitions hosted both locally and nationally, with the opportunity to be invited to and to attend End-Of-Season Events (i.e., The Cheerleading Worlds, The Summit).
Competition schedules will be released after team placements.
TRAVEL EXPENSES
Travel expenses are not included in tuition. Athletes are required to book travel in accordance with any guidelines provided throughout the season.
Time Commitment
Participating in our All Star Cheer program is a 12-month commitment. We practice two weekdays all season. Our Worlds team will have multiple mandatory Sunday practices during the season. Additional practices and extended practices will be scheduled during important times of the season.
Athletes are expected to prioritize their participation in our program and fully commit to attending all scheduled practices.
Tryouts
Tryout sessions are divided by age. All previous balances and necessary tryout fees must be paid in order to participate. Private Tryouts are available upon request. Email pittsburgh@cheerathletics.com to schedule.
Each athlete will receive a number that will be used through the whole placement process. During INDIVIDUAL TRYOUTS each athlete will perform a jump sequence, running tumbling skills and standing tumbling skills. Flyers will be asked to demonstrate body positions on the floor . Please register and attend the session for your current age as of the date of placements. If you are not able to attend the placement for your age, you should still register for your proper age, but attend the lower age group or the scheduled makeup session.

Program Overview
TEAM PLACEMENT
Team Placements are primarily determined by birth Month and Year. Athletes that try out will be placed on their age appropriate team. If the athlete is eligible for 2 age groups (they sit within the overlap year) it is at the discretion of the coaches, based upon skill, experience, and team needs, where the athlete will be placed.
Age groups offered for 2026-2027 are as follows:
- 8U (Born June 2017 - May 2021) - ZincCats
- 11U (Born June 2014 - May 2018) - MetalliCats
- 14U (Born June 2011 - May 2015) - ObsidianCats
- 18U (Born June 2007 - May 2012) - ClawCats
Athletes will be placed on the team that correlates with their age group.
“League Age” is determined by the age of the athlete as of June 1, 2026. Each team will consist of anywhere between 8-24 athletes. As in most sports, athletes will be given the opportunity to learn all choreography and plays for all levels. Athletes will be selected to perform routines that match their skill level and contribute to the team’s success.
Financial Commitment
Participating in STUNT requires a significant financial commitment. It’s important to carefully consider the investment involved. Tuition is divided into 7 month installments and is due on the first of each month. Billing begins June 1 , 2026 and continues through December 1 , 2026. Tuition remains consistent from month to month, and is payable online through our customer portal on the 1 of each month. Members are required to keep a card on file. Tuition covers team training and other non-refundable expenses.
