2026-2027 Tryouts

Welcome!

Welcome to Cheer Athletics Frisco! We are honored that your family is choosing our program for the 2026-2027 season. Cheer Athletics Frisco has one of the best communities out there, where we cheer not just for ourselves, but for each other. At CA Frisco, we are committed to providing an elite training environment where athletes can grow, challenge themselves, and create lifelong memories. Together, we cannot wait to embark on a journey of teamwork, support, dedication, unity and success - because in our gym, we're all in it ”For Your Family.”

This tryout packet includes important information to help you better understand the tryout process and expectations (time commitment, financial commitment and program expectations) of a CA Frisco Elite tiered athlete. Our Elite Tier includes both Elite Cheer teams as well as All-Star Advanced teams. All-Star Advanced teams practice and travel with our Elite teams and compete in the prep divisions. Although this packet refers to Elite pricing and expectations, we do offer Catalyst (Full and Half year Prep), STUNT the Sport, Hip Hop Dance, Satellite 6 week programs for cheer and dance (multiple genres), classes and much more! IF our Elite Program is not a good fit for you and your athlete at this time, please reach out to frisco@cheerathletics.com and they can direct and answer all questions you may have! YOU BELONG HERE! And we want to help you find the right fit within our Frisco Family.

Tryouts

Tryouts are designed to be a positive experience for athletes to showcase all skills: tumbling, jumps, & stunts. All athletes must register and attend one Skill Session. Session One and Session Two are two day skill sessions for new athletes and returning athletes wanting to be considered to level up. The Returning Athlete Session is for returning athletes who wish to stay at the same level. Attending this tryout does not guarantee athletes being placed on the same level and will be based on the skills shown at the Session. Athletes wanting to be considered for a flyer position must attend a Flying Session in addition to the required Skills Session. Attending a Flying Session does not guarantee a flyer spot on a team. If the sessions don’t work for you, there is also an option to register for a private tryout.

About STUNT the Sport

STUNT the Sport

STUNT is one of the fastest growing female sports in the country. As a new form of competitive cheerleading, STUNT is performed in a head-to-head 4-quarter format. Each quarter focuses on different elements of competitive cheerleading.

  • Quarter 1: Partner Stunts
  • Quarter 2: Pyramids & Tosses
  • Quarter 3: Jumps & Tumbling
  • Quarter 4: Team Routine

STUNT

Within each Quarter, there are 2-4 rounds of play, dependent upon age category. Each "round" of play will focus on a pre-set routine that ranges in skill level.

For 8U teams, there are 3 potential levels of play while 11U, 14U, 16U, and 18U have a potential of 6 levels of play. Each "play" will last 30 seconds, or ten 8-counts, long. A game of STUNT typically lasts about 45-60 minutes.

Scoring Officials will determine the number and degree of errors made by each team during play. The team with the fewest deductions is declared the winner of each round, receiving points toward their final score.

We are so excited to release our information for the upcoming 2024 Club STUNT Season. We want to get our dates and pricing out as soon as we could to help families plan. Cheer Athletics is widely regarded as the strongest, most successful athletic program of its type in the world. For 25+ years, CA has helped build healthy, strong, and confident athletes. Athletes learn about sportsmanship, working together towards goals, and striving to win. The teamwork athletes gain from our program is a valuable lifelong lesson.

The World Needs More Cheer

Today, more than ever, the world needs more cheer. Life in the 2020s can feel scary, hopeless, and even isolating for kids and parents alike. Cheer, conversely, offers hope, purpose, and community. It inspires, empowers, & frees. It unshackles children from society's constraints & expectations, and, it never judges ... except for those 30-second plays on the mat.

At CA we believe...

That cheer prepares you for the sport called life.
In freeing your inner cheerleader.
That mat talk can change lives.
In changing lives, one 8-count at a time
and more than anything,
the world needs more cheer.

Practice & Schedule Info

Practices / Attendance

All teams have a regular two practice days per week schedule. Typically, 2 weekday practices, one weekday and one weekend, or both on the weekend depending on levels. From September through December, please count on the additional team practice. Practice times usually remain consistent throughout the season and are only changed as needed. (Some facilities may adjust schedules during the summer months to 2 weekday practices, returning to a "regular" schedule in the fall.)

During important times of the season, extra practices may be scheduled. These practices are typically scheduled well in advance and all athletes are expected to attend.

Classes in stretching, jumps and tumbling are available to sign up. Any CA Club STUNT athlete is eligible for the "Class Pass" rates, but must be enrolled in the program in June to take advantage of the offer. The "Class Pass" rates will be charged to your account monthly for the entire season, running from June through December.

Game/Tournament schedule

Game/Tournament schedule will depend on age division. The cost of the season that is paid in your monthly tuition cost includes the fees associated with registering and competing in 3-5 different events.

Our 8U and 11U teams will most likely stay within our "region" for games. These age groups are not eligible for post-season tournaments. All other divisions (14U, 18U, 18+) will travel nationally in order to play other teams in their age groups and work towards a chance to be invited to post-season tournament play.

Game/Tournament schedules will be released in the month of August after teams have been set and tournament registrations open.

About Dance Athletics Frisco

We are incredibly excited to release our information/audition packet for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. We look forward to another incredible season at Dance Athletics Frisco and are committed to building a tradition of excellence and instilling respect, structure and confidence in each and every athlete. We are excited to be bringing the best of the best in All Star Hip Hop and Pom to the DFW Metroplex!

We appreciate your interest in our Dance Program and look forward to working with your dancers as we continue to promote personal achievement and the pursuit of excellence at Dance Athletics Frisco.

THE ALL STAR EXPERIENCE

Dance Athletics is an All Star Dance program, governed by the United States All Star Federation (USASF) for club dance teams. Dance style is a key component of All Star Dance ranging from Contemporary/Lyrical, Hip Hop, Jazz, Pom, Kick and Variety. Competition routines will incorporate many technical elements and skills specific to the dance styles

DANCE ATHLETICS FRISCO

Elite All Star Dance is different from a performing company or a high school drill team. We follow mental and physical regulations provided by USASF that put the dancer's safety and best interest at the forefront of their training and competitive experience. We currently offer classes for technique, combo as well as tech/conditioning. From a team stand point we currently focus on the Hip Hop Style, and plan to add other styles in the future.

YOU BELONG HERE

Whether your athlete is a Tiny or a Senior, the lessons learned through All Star Dance are unmatched. All Star helps athletes acquire valuable skills and develop friendships that will later serve them in all facets of life. Communication and leadership skills, respect, self confidence, time management, and discipline are just a few of the areas that your athlete will learn to excel in. From their younger years through high school, we believe investing in your athlete's dance ability, training, character, and future.

Audition Process

AUDITION PROCESS

The athletes will be given choreography dates to attend based upon their age group. Attendance is mandatory and if you are unable to attend you can contact the dance coordinator for videos. They will
then be given a few days to practice on their own before returning the following week for auditions. Any athlete unable to make the audition must contact the dance director for further instruction.

In addition to the choreography, dancers will be asked to perform their best tumbling/tricks. We create teams by grouping dancers with the proper age group, who also have similar skill sets, which varies year to year.

TEAM PLACEMENT

Dancers will not only be separated in to teams by skillset, but age as well, specifically based off of their birth year. Dancers are required to attend all audition times that their birth year is included in. Listed below is the 2024-2025 USASF dance age grid for reference.

  • TINY NOVICE 2018-2022
  • TINY 2018-2021
  • MINI 2015-2020
  • YOUTH 2012-2017
  • JUNIOR 2009-2015
  • SENIOR 6/1/2006-2013
